ViuSasa is a new video on demand app. The app offers video, music, audio and TV content in Swahili, English and over 10 vernacular languages.
According to their website, ViuSasa is a part of Content Aggregation Limited (CAL). “Through ViuSasa, CAL stores, distributes markets and promotes and monetizes content in all genres on behalf of our content partners.”
In this post, I am going to take you through the process of downloading ViuSasa, registering and paying for a subscription.
How to Download and Install ViuSasa App
To download the ViuSasa app for android phones, head over to Google Play Store on your phone.
Once on Play Store, search for ViuSasa on the search bar at the top of the app.
Once the ViuSasa app shows, tap on ‘Install’.
Accept to grant it the necessary permissions. It will take a few seconds to download and install the app.
Now tap on ‘Open’ to launch the ViuSasa app.
Once open, select your app language and tap and continue
On the next screen, tap on ‘Register’ (I’m assuming you’re a new user)
On the next screen, fill out your mobile number and password. After you have set a strong yet memorable password, tap on ‘Create your ViuSasa Account’
Enter your one time password sent to you phone and tap on ‘Verify’.
On the app’s home screen, select your preferred content language and tap ‘Ok’. (There are currently 16 languages to choose from)
Now you can navigate through the apps content using the top menu. There are ViuSasa videos, News, TV shows, music, TV and Live event categories.
How to Pay for your ViuSasa Subscription
To watch ViuSasa videos and other content, you have to have a subscription.
To pay for your ViuSasa subscription, tap on the menu bars at the top left hand corner of the app and tap on ‘Pay’.
On the ‘packages’ page, you get to choose the package you want to subscribe for and the mode of payment (Mpesa, airtel money or Visa).
The following are ViuSasa packages you can choose from:
To pay for viusasa via Mpesa, choose the package you want and tap on the ‘Pay’ button. This will take you to the M-pesa App where you complete you payment. The same process applies for Airtel money.

With Visa payment, it is a bit different since the pay button takes you to a payment screen where you enter Visa card details (Name, Card number, Expiry date and CVV) to complete the subscription process.
